TABATA MEANING ?


Tabata means high intensity interval training workout program with music synchronization (OPTIONAL). Tabata workout or training program was discovered by Japanese scientist Dr. Izumi tabata. He wasn't alone in discovering this but with a team of researchers from National Institute of Fitness (TOKYO). Tabata is a fully customizable workout program that actually provides you with lot of intense training to achieve your goals.




WHY TABATA WAS DISCOVERED ?


If you are bored doing the same workout again & again on a daily basis, your body gets used to it. It stops showing changes. HOW TABATA PROGRAM WORKS ?


Well like i said, TABATA is a fully customizable programe. Now let's take an example of muscle building routine :-


  1. Battle rope (20 sec... performance) than rest for (10 sec...) ,now continue with

  2. Chin-ups (20 sec... performance) than rest for (10 sec...) ,now continue with

  3. Push-ups (20 sec... performance) than rest for (10 sec...) ,now continue with

  4. Squat (20 sec... performance) than rest for (10 sec...) ,now continue with

  5. Bicep-curl (20 sec... performance) than rest for (10 sec...).

Another example for fat loss routine :-


  1. Skipping (20 sec... performance) than rest for (10 sec...) ,now continue with

  2. Burpees (20 sec... performance) than rest for (10 sec...) ,now continue with

  3. High knees (20 sec... performance) than rest for (10 sec...) ,now continue with

  4. Push kick (20 sec... performance) than rest for (10 sec...) ,now continue with

  5. Burpee leaps (20 sec... performance) than rest for (10 sec...).

Now, this routine will be performed without any break and in a continuation form. 1 set of all these exercises performing & rest given, will be your one giant set.


You can perform this routine for 3 to 4 times as sets to achieve your goal. Basically, the actual TABATA timing is 4 minutes. So with given exercises you have to perform these for 4 minutes & that is how actually TABATA works.


" Well, personally speaking i like customizing my TABATA workout routine accordingly. I sometimes add 6 exercises & sometimes even 8. My period of performing also fluctuates from 20 seconds to 30 or maybe even 40 sometimes. Like i said you can customize your own routine but just make sure there will be no longer resting period. Resting period has to be as short as possible (5 to 10 seconds max...). So, that's how i personally feel & perform TABATA. "

Now. this is just an example that i gave to show you how it is done. There are many ways to perform tabata routine & with whatever intensity you like.
